5 Days of 4th of July Fun!

Gear up for the most exciting celebration each year in Platte Center over the 4th of July Holiday!

We have 5 days jam-packed with fun for the whole family in store for you for the 51st Anniversary of the 4th of July Parade!

The fun starts on Saturday June 24th with the Annual Mud Volleyball Tournament! Teams are currently full! If you didn't make your way on a team, no worries St John's Lutheran Church will be hosting a luncheon at the Mud Volleyball Courts for anyone to enjoy! 

The fun continues on Friday June 30th at Elmwood Park for the Annual Frog Jump & Turtle Races! Bring your own frog & turtle and watch them battle it out in the most fun competion ever! Don't leave too soon as we like to take a community photo of all the Platte Center kids in front of the maintenance shop! That night you can enjoy the musical stylings of Phil Valdez down at the pub! Nashville in Platte Center, am I right?

Saturday July 1st is a full day of fun! St John's Lutheran Church is hosting their annual Red, White & Blessed Fun Run! You can get registered for this event at HERE! New to this year Cork & Barrel will be hosting their first ever Pop Up Pub in the park! Enjoy an early mimosa or fruity beverage at Elmwood Park! We then have a fun filled afternoon with the Lawn Mower Poker Run! Bring your lawn mower, side by side, or 4 wheeler to Elmwood Park between 1-2pm for registration! Decorate your vehicle in the greatest 4th of July gear of all time! All Local ATV's must be registered with the village!

Sunday July 2nd is also jam packed with family fun! We are hosting 3 different food trucks at Elmwood Park including Nub's Grub, Gametime Philly, and Judy's Concessions starting at 11am! The Platte Center Fire Deparment is once again bringing out the big rigs for the PC Fire Department Waterfight at 2pm! You don't want to miss that! Then stay awhile and enjoy the community meal/Pre-Demo Derby Party at 7pm in the Park! This includes, food, music, and fun! Don't forget to BYOC. (Bring your own chair)

Don't worry, after this we have 1 solid day of rest on Monday July 3rd! (Phew)

And we are back at on the 4th of July with the 51st Annual Parade at 10:30am, a Lunch provided by the Platte Center Rescue Squad, Kiddie Tractor Pull, and of coarse the Annual Demolition Derby!
